Description: Rail Stations for both current (red line) and new rail lines open May 2015. Additions include platforms that exist on the new green and purple line which are scheduled to be in revenue generating operation in May 2015. Platforms are used to depict the exact location of boarding and alighting Metro rail system based on the desired direction of travel; eastbound (EB), westbound (WB), northbound (NB), or southbound (SB). Description: METRORail Lines was created using METMap. METRO's street centerline map is a version of Star*Map as created and maintained by the Geographic Data Committee of the Houston-Galveston Area Council. The METRORail Main-Fannin Corridor heading South from Downtown Houston was created as a centerline between the existing tracks as shown on January 2010 Aerial Photography. The North, East End and Southeast Corridors were created as a centerline track reprsentation as drawn over January 2010 aerial photography using engineering drawings and field work. These lines are under construction and are not depicted on the aerial photography.

Description: December 2, 2019: Harris County Community Service Department Office of Transit Services, in partnership with Harris County Precinct 1, Harris County Precinct 2, and Houston METRO will begin providing fixed bus transit services in East Harris County. The new service will provide buses in the Channelview, Cloverleaf and Sheldon (West) areas of East Harris County. In addition, a shuttle bus will be added to connect the existing Harris County Transit fixed bus transit services in the Baytown area. This bus will operate from the San Jacinto Mall to Walmart at I-10 East Freeway and Freeport with stops along the I-10 East Service Road. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Transfers to the Houston METRO fixed bus route service can be made at the Mesa Transit Center located at Tidwell and Mesa or along Uvalde Road at the intersection of Woodforest Boulevard.
